MEET WACA MEMBER CLARA SACHS

MEET WACA MEMBER CLARA SACHS

“Welcome to my Hometown!” This is how Clara Sachs greets all her guests! As a DC born, lifelong Washingtonian, she has always been the “tour guide” for her visiting relatives, friends and coworkers. Her “Hometown” pride and passion comes through to all her guests!

As a credentialed Certified Master Guide  (CMG) focused exclusively on Private Guided Tours, her goal is to introduce visitors to the history, architecture, art and FUN waiting for them in DC. She shares compelling stories of monumental lives, events and how they still impact us today. One young son told his father, “Wow! I’ve learned more history today than all year at school!” Some of her most popular itineraries include: “On The Mall”, “GW’s Footsteps”, “Heroes of Flight”, “Art Lovers” tours, “JFK Lived Here: Georgetown!” and “On The Capitol Hill”. Her specialty is listening to her guest’s priorities/interests and designing an itinerary around them.

Clara took her love of DC and turned it into a full time passion and profession. She joined the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of DC in 2011. One year later, she retired from a three decade career in finance to devote herself to conducting tours full time. In 2016, she began work on her CMG credential. In 2018, she successfully completed this intensive program. Her life-long involvement in activism, culture, art, the local business and charitable communities adds many dimensions to her tour commentary.

Make sure to ask about her exclusive “VIP” services for your guests who book with her! Have you ever had a guest ask about a new exhibit you haven’t seen yet? A great resource is her Need To See In DC Facebook page. She is always exploring! Clara is happy to share her inside info with WACA members anytime.

Her WACA membership helps her to give back to the community she loves through the many charitable programs WACA contributes to each year.

Clara Sachs can be reached via email or phone at 301.717.1168. She accepts all major credit cards.
