WACA GALA | A FESTIVAL OF STARS

The Washington Area Concierge Association and Les Clefs d’Or, USA present their 36th annual charity gala, “A Festival of Stars” hosted by Texas de Brazil on Monday, October 7, 2019.

Thanks to the generous support of the community, the Washington Area Concierge Association has donated over $362,000 to charitable organizations. This year’s recipients will include:

• The WACA Memorial Scholarship (originally the John B. Campbell Scholarship) was established by the Washington Area Concierge Association (WACA) as a long-term commitment to the hospitality and tourism industry to support the development of skilled professionals. In 2019 the scholarship was renamed to honor several members for their contributions to the concierge profession. The current scholarship honors John B. Campbell, Luis Colmenares, and Julie Saunders.

• Les Clefs d’Or Foundation of the Americas is a tax-exempt, volunteer, nonprofit organization founded in 1990 to respond to the suffering of concierges and/or their significant others affected by catastrophic or life-threatening illnesses. While it began as a USA entity, the Foundation today is a Pan-American effort combining and benefiting the Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels “Les Clefs d’Or” (UICH) sections of the United States, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

• Les Clefs d’Or, USA Recognition and Retirement Program provides funds for the pioneers and mentors of the professional concierge industry in the United States to be honored by Les Clefs d'Or, USA. The Washington Area Concierge Association is proud to support this initiative and to host events to honor the accomplishments and years of dedication from the Washington, D.C. area members of Les Clefs d'Or, USA.

• Horton’s Kids empowers children growing up in one of DC’s most under-resourced communities so that they graduate from high school ready for success in college, career, and life. We serve 500 children in grades K-12 living in Wellington Park, a neighborhood where 80 percent of adults don’t have a high school diploma and the average annual household income is less than $10,000. 

Throughout the year the support of local hotels, restaurants, tourist organizations, and corporations has made an incredible difference to our guests. This annual event allows us, as an organization, a chance to give back to our local community and raise the funds necessary to support our charitable endeavors throughout the year.

Our sponsorship levels for 2019 are:

• Gold - $2,000 cash (or in-kind donation valued at $4,000) entitles you to six gala tickets, reserved seating, and your company logo prominently showcased at the event and on dcwaca.org as well as use of the WACA logo for one year (subject to board approval).

• Silver - $1500 cash (or in-kind donation valued at $3,000) entitles you to four tickets and your company logo prominently showcased at the event and on dcwaca.org

• Bronze - $750 cash (or in-kind donation valued at $1,500) entitles you to two tickets and your company logo prominently showcased at the event and on dcwaca.org

In addition to, or in lieu of, sponsorship please consider a raffle prize donation for our Panda Raffle to assist us in raising funds for the aforementioned charities. No donation is too small; we will combine items to create packages when needed.
